“The Importance of
Good Sportsmanship”
You may enjoy yourself while being
on a team, but others can enjoy it even more with good sportsmanship. If you
treat your fellow teammates with respect
then you will be favored by all. Some sports,
however, only think of winning and have horrible attitudes among the team.
This does not make a
successful team. A respectful team
is a winning team in the eyes of the spectators. Even if they’re not on your
team, sportsmanship should still apply. For example, say you are in a race. After the event you
should stay positive no matter what you placed. You should congratulate or
encourage the other racers. You should also thank the coaches and volunteer
timers/referees. If you apply all these factors into your sport, then
your team will be successful. My principle is to
treat others the way you want to be treated even if they don’t.
